| Derivation |
Animals were immunized with spleen focus forming virus (SFFV) infected nonproducer normal rat kidney (NRK) cells in complete Freund's adjuvant. Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. |

| Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium:
- fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%
- 0.05 mM 2-mercaptoethanol

| Subculturing |
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 105 cells/mL and maintain between 1 X 105 and 1 X 106 cells/mL.
